AutoCAD is the CAD application product line developed by Autodesk. The first AutoCAD released in 1982 was a desktop version that offered 2D and 3D design features for a single operator to work on at once.

The software was originally designed for owners of desktop computers with graphics controllers such as the 6200, 6300, 8200 and 8500. These computers had built-in circuitry for 3D graphics that enabled CAD users to work from the same 3D scene at the same time. The CAD users could then simultaneously work on parts of a 3D object that were being designed by other CAD operators.

AutoCAD introduced capabilities for 2D drafting and 3D modeling features in its second release in 1987. With AutoCAD 2.0, the majority of features available on the CAD platform were now 2D drafting and 3D modeling.

AutoCAD’s 3D CAD market was subsequently boosted when it was released on the Atari ST computer in 1988. For several years it ran as a dedicated graphics board, enabling the use of 3D CAD software with a non-graphics equipped computer.

The original hardware requirements of AutoCAD were fairly advanced for a desktop computer at the time. AutoCAD required the ST to have a built-in graphics controller and be equipped with a 65MHz Zilog Z80 processor and 64 KB of RAM.

Starting with the third release of AutoCAD, CAD operators were able to work from 2D, 3D, and now 3D + 2D drawings at the same time. Autodesk released AutoCAD for workstation computers in the mid-1990s. From 1996 to 2001, CAD use on workstation computers was at its peak with AutoCAD running on Windows NT and 95 operating systems.

Since 2003, CAD operators use a variety of desktop and laptop computers to run AutoCAD, with laptop computing gaining more popularity than

AutoCAD originally ran on the Amiga computers and on the PC version, followed by the Macintosh. In the mid-1990s, Microsoft ported AutoCAD to Windows NT, which included the ability to run a 32-bit version of AutoCAD on a 64-bit Windows machine.
AutoCAD is among the top three AutoCAD software packages that have been the most widely used for many years. In 2007, Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) was included in AutoCAD R14 and AutoCAD LT.
The AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT products are part of a group of products called the Autodesk Applications, which also includes AutoCAD R14, AutoCAD R13, Architecture, Civil 3D, Electrical, Mechanical and Structural (formerly known as Mech2D), and Software Inspiration. The Autodesk applications are available for Windows, Macintosh, and Linux.
AutoCAD first appeared in 1989. The software was initially developed by Acisys Software, and later sold to Autodesk. Autodesk originally offered only AutoCAD as a desktop application, and AutoCAD LT as a LAN-based application. In 1991, Acisys was acquired by Autodesk. In 1999, Autodesk formed a joint venture with Corel called CorelDRAW.
On January 21, 2006, Autodesk announced it would acquire CorelDRAW, with the option to buy other assets as well. The following month, Autodesk announced the closure of CorelDRAW. The software was available as of April 30, 2007 in the Autodesk Application Store.
In 2007, Corel announced the closure of CorelDRAW, and that CorelDRAW customers could export their files and migrate their drawings to another CAD package.
In 2012, Autodesk released AutoCAD 2013.
In June 2016, Autodesk acquired the world’s leading technology for cloud-based software design, SolidWorks. As part of the acquisition, Autodesk announced that SolidWorks 2017 was renamed Autodesk Fusion 2017.
In November 2017, Autodesk released Autodesk 2021 Architecture.
The manufacturing industry first began to use CAD software in the late 1960s.
The introduction of AutoCAD sparked a revolution in the 3D design of structures in architecture, civil engineering, construction, transportation, manufacturing and a wide range of other

Copy and paste it to the folder “C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Autocad 2016\isaprep\bin\isaprep.exe”. If you don’t have Autocad 2016, just find the folder isaprep.exe in your Autocad installation directory.
Click on button “Register ISA Preparer”.
The registration will be successful.
Autodesk will automatically start the ISA file preparation and the whole process will finish within 15-30 seconds.
You will see the message “Finished successfully.”
The file is saved.
You can find it in the folder “C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Autocad 2016\isaprep\temporary”

View your AutoCAD drawing as a zoomable printed overlay to see revisions and annotations at any magnification level (video: 1:44 min.)
Help you locate annotations with the new annotate tool. Searching annotations in AutoCAD becomes even easier with new search capabilities in the annotation panel. (video: 1:12 min.)
Suppress default 2D annotations in DWG files with new “dont_show_2d_annotations” command line option. (video: 1:14 min.)
Access new dimensions in object properties to set the base, detail, and datum of your dimensions. Update the datum when you save changes and prompt the user to save a new version of the drawing (video: 1:21 min.)
Use the new object dimensioning system to add a variety of new dimensions and annotate your drawings. Choose between line, area, and text dimensions and draw them out and back in. (video: 1:31 min.)
Select any group of dimensions in a drawing and use the new global dimensions system to specify new base, detail, and datum values, for both 2D and 3D dimensions. (video: 1:37 min.)
More points, edges, and curves:
Automatically show points and edges as dotted points when they are near objects that are also dotted. (video: 1:20 min.)
AutoCAD allows you to switch between 2D and 3D coordinate systems to work with 2D and 3D drawing, engineering and architectural drawings. Now you can easily switch between 3D and 2D coordinate systems for drawing. (video: 1:22 min.)
View points as filled areas when your view is set to a 2D coordinate system and points are near objects that are dotted. (video: 1:21 min.)
View lines and polylines in 3D when your view is set to a 3D coordinate system and objects are near each other. (video: 1:20 min.)
